魏美瑤特聘教授
我非常關心語言。它的聲音與結構比起世界上任何事物都更加吸引我，我會花上好幾個小時聆聽（是的就是聆聽）我周遭被講出來的話語。當我認為我已經獲得夠多被說出的資訊時，我試著用這些最新的研究心得來寫書、發表論文或開課。如此，我可以將我的熱情與專業連結，並且可能可以幫助人們瞭解世界上的文字以及語言。我寫了兩本書、幾篇專書的章節以及許多關於語言政策、語言選擇、身份認同政策的論文表。目前，我的研究興趣主要在那些可以為海峽兩岸帶來更好的瞭解的關鍵字以及語言學家所稱的「框架」（為何人們以某種方式來看事情以及如何說服他們反向思考）。將來我也許會試著演獨角相聲（這是要使人聆聽的最佳方法），我也是傑藍諾與喬治卡林的忠實戲迷。
