Children's Literature Posters Exhibition

Please join us to explore children’s picturebooks and consider what makes some of them exceptional. How do words and pictures interact to create meaning, stimulate the imagination, and challenge readers? What truths do they reveal? Are they really only meant for children?
Social Media Writing Contest

To encourage students to participate in the ICEE events through social media writing on sustainable development goals (SDGs) and giving presentations in English.
Capstone Presentation Contest

Renaissance Fair

Welcome to the SCU English Department’s Renaissance Faire. There will be action, adventure, culture, and history. This year's activities include juggling, bookmaking, fortune-telling, food, and games of all sorts. Many adventures to find and spectacles to see.

Dramatic Reading Contest
Event Director: 劉仁洲 助理教授
Dramatic Readings of literature involve a work or works of either prose or poetry. The speaker chooses and practices the readings and delivers the piece or pieces using voice and facial expression to interpret the mood and meaning of the pieces.
Simultaneous Interpretation Presentation
Event Director: 林宜瑾 兼任副教授
This year, the seniors in Professor Lin's SI class invited Austin from TSMC to be the English speaker, and Scott to be the Chinese speaker for this annual grand event. Both of them share their inspiring experience and talk about the hardships they've encountered. While you listening to the speech, enhancing your English listening ability, you can also broaden your horizons about future career development "simultaneously!" Doesn't it sound great?
Impromptu Speech Contest

This year, we have the junior students from Professor Alan's and Professor Kent's English Public Speaking Classes, and even students from other departments to join this exciting event. We've also invited Prof. Steven, Prof. Sara, Prof. James, and Prof. Colin to be our judges and questioners!
Extended Speech Contest
Event Director: 謝高林 講師
24 hours before the event begins, the contestants get their questions and topics which they will have to elaborate on. Compared with impromptu speech, participants would present their ideas based on the issues or topics they've chosen more detailedly.
